Happy Friday…We Made It!  One of my goals for this blog is to post more frequently and to participate in more link ups.  So far I’ve definitely improved but I’ve really wanted to write some quality posts on Fridays.

So for the first time, I’m linking up with the DC Trifecta:  Mar on The RunEat Pray Run DC, and You Signed Up for What?! for Friday Five!  I’ll be writing about 5 things that are either going on in my life, interest me at the moment, or articles that I’ve enjoyed.  I hope you like it!

1.  American Lung Association Fight for Air Stair Climb

In less than 24 hours, I will have the biggest climb of my life.  The ALA Fight for Air Stair Climb is tomorrow morning!

I have so many emotions going through my mind as I get to the final countdown.  Why did I decide do to 100 floors instead of the normal 50?  Have I trained enough?  What if I start out too fast?

The good thing is that I’ve done this event 4 times before, so I am familiar with the stairs and I know what works for me:  listen to music, keep my head down, don’t count floors, wear light shoes, don’t stop moving.  But I’m so nervous that I’ll psych myself out!

I want to do my best, but most of all, I want to have fun with my teammates. No matter what happens, it should be a great time!

2.  Blogging Connections

I have been spending a lot of time researching ways to take Run With No Regrets to the next level.  The most important thing is to keep writing great content that encourages others to work out, eat healthy, and try new adventures!

Here are some cool blogging articles that I’ve read this week:

I’ve also been reading How to Blog for Profit (Without Selling Your Soul) by Ruth Soukup and taking copious notes!  You gotta love Amazon Prime; I was able to borrow the book to read for free on my Kindle!   This book gives a ton of strategy for how to monetize your blog, as there are so many ways to do it:  Ads, brand ambassadorships, SEO.  I’m not ready to implement things yet…but when I am, hopefully things will take off!

3.  NCAA March Madness

I am so hooked on March Madness this year.  I’ve got 2 brackets and $20 on the line, so I’m really hoping that one of them works out!  One bracket has Michigan State winning it all, and the other one has Arizona…so I’ve still got a fighting chance!

4.  Xfinity’s X1 Platform

We recently got the new X1 cable box from Comcast Xfinity, and let me tell you…it’s awesome!

They’ve really cleaned things up with this platform.  It looks similar to Netflix and it’s so much easier to find TV shows and movies On Demand.  Right now I’m watching Dance Moms, one of my favorite guilty pleasures!  And I do feel kind of cool because it hasn’t had a full release yet…

5.  Yoga Growing Pains

This morning I went to my second yoga class at Focus Barre and Yoga.  This wasn’t the Yoga for Beginners, but a legit yoga class.  Let me tell you, it was HARD!

The first challenge was the HEAT.  I have never done yoga in a heated room, which was pretty scary, but not bad at all.  I didn’t magically gain a ton of flexibility like I hear people say, but I did feel a slight difference.

The next challenge was knowing the poses.  I clearly need to crack open my book, because I had NO idea where we were going from one move to the next since Ali, the instructor, said just about everything in Sanskrit.  I also felt really self-conscious because she had to keep coming over to adjust me.  At one point I thought to myself “I just want this to be over!”, but if you know me…I don’t quit, no matter how lost I feel. But one of the most exciting things that happened was that I held the crow pose…for about 10 seconds!

The other highlight was that after the class, Ali complimented me on a job well done, considering that I’m a beginner!  She said that she could tell that I was athletic (always nice to hear!), and that yoga is great for runners.  Maybe this will get less scary the more that I do it and get out of my own head!

The yoga studio!

What do you have going on this weekend?  Who are you rooting for in March Madness?
