Happy New Year’s Eve! Do you have any special festivities going on tonight? I’ll be heading to a small house party with friends. It should be fun!
For the first time in a very long time I’m linking up with Peas and Crayons for the What I Ate Wednesday linkup. This is where over a hundred bloggers each week come together and post photos of what they’ve been eating and share delicious, healthy recipes. It’s a great place to pick up some inspiration! For this edition of What I Ate Wednesday, I’m sharing my favorite eats from my time in Nebraska!
Hey happy Monday! For some of you lucky folks, you’re still enjoying your end of the year vacation. Sadly, mine ended on Sunday and I am back in Philly from a wonderful week in Nebraska. I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!

Holidays in Nebraska
I had an amazing time in Nebraska with Bret and his family for Christmas. This was my second visit to Nebraska, so I knew to expect some pretty cold weather! It actually wasn’t that cold this time around, and sadly we didn’t have a white Christmas, but I really had a fantastic time the entire trip!
Wow, it’s the day after Christmas! If you celebrate, I hope it was lovely for you! I am still off in Nebraska with Bret’s family and it’s been wonderful being back here for the holidays. As it is Friday, I’m linking up with Mar on the Run, You Signed Up For What, and Eat Pray Run DC for the Friday 5. This week is actually a free-for-all, so I look forward to seeing what all the other ladies will be writing this week!
End of the Year Recap
Miss Zippy 1 has a link up every year where we give a recap on our year of running. I actually did participate last year, so now I’m going to share for 2014 as we inch ever closer to the start of 2015!
Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend! It has been fun and relaxing for me. Friday night I was able to celebrate because I found out that I PASSED my Professional Engineers Exam! You know, that one I was all crazy about for several months?! I’m still in shock but just so happy and grateful that I was able to take this step for my career! The sky’s the limit, talk about a great Christmas present!
Workout Recap and Run Streak
My last week of running and working out was pretty much the same as the previous week. Now that we’re at the end of the year, my Boot Camp and Cardio Kickboxing classes are done until January so that frees up a little bit of time to do some other things, like yoga and strength training!
Somehow I’m still alive with the Run Streak. On Friday I was happy to run over 4.5 miles with an average pace of 10:30. My knees felt a little bit beat up, but I was able to knock it out! Then on Saturday evening I did a little over 1.5 miles with a 9 minute pace! Somehow I felt like a rock star, the first I’d felt that way in a very long time! So I was definitely grateful to feel so good! I must reiterate though...I can’t wait for the run streak to be over!!
