Happy Sunday! I can’t believe we’re coming up to another week…I’m not ready yet! I’m linking up with Laura of Mommy Run Fast and Jill of Jill Conyers for What’s for Dinner. Check out their sites and see what everyone’s got on their menus for the week –I’m sure you’ll be inspired!
This past week was insanely busy. Last weekend, I went down to the DC/Maryland area to visit my siblings. I had a great time and got to hang out with my twin nephews for the first time in quite some time. They’re only 4 but are getting so big now! They had a soccer game and were so cute running around the gym.
While in Maryland, my sister and I took a trip to Baltimore and went for brunch at Miss Shirley’s Cafe. It’s a wildly popular spot in the Inner Harbor area and had the long wait to prove it. It was also very expensive….but hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself! My sister got Chicken and Waffles and I went for one of their “light” options, the Cajun Skinny – crustless egg white quiche with andouille sausage and shrimp with collard greens. It was all very delicious. Pro tip: Don’t get their pancakes, they’re terribly undercooked!
During the rest of the week I was just so busy and not in the mood to do any meal planning. That was a big mistake because all it led to was lots of eating out, which can definitely be fun, but isn’t always the smartest thing to do!
On Monday my friend Torrina was celebrating her birthday. We went out to a new restaurant and had some ice cream before I had to head home. She and my other 2 friends were a lot of fun that night. I ended up getting a delicious trout dinner and a couple of cocktails….and wine lol!
And last but not least, Saturday we went to brunch with one of our kickball friends, Meghan. It was great to catch up! We always have so many laughs. We went do a place called Sidecar that has THE best brunch. Bret and I are brunchheads, so trust me…this place is amazing and I haven’t had a bad dish yet! This was my second quiche of the week–it’s gigantic! After running 6 miles on Saturday, I gobbled up all of the food!
Okay, now is the time to get back on track. No more excuses. I spent a ton of money going out this past week and I can’t take it anymore! I miss making my own food! Clearly I’ve been craving quiche so I plan to make some mini quiches again this week for breakfast!
