It’s been a busy week!  I can’t wait to tell you what’s been going on with me lately…expect a recap early next week (or follow me on Instagram to see what I’ll be up to!)!

It’s Wednesday and I’m participating in Workout Wednesday, hosted by Sheila of The Frugal Exerciser and Diatta of Femme Fitale Fit Club.  It’s a great opportunity to pick up some new fitness tips, so make sure you check out their blogs to see the linkup!

Cherry Blossom Training RecapWeek 8 Training Recap:

Wednesday 3/18: Speedwork! I did 2-minute intervals at 5K pace, running a total of 4 miles. I made sure not to go too fast, which was easy with the terrible winds! It’s crazy how one day I’m running in shorts and two days later I’m wearing gloves!

Thursday 3/19:  3-mile easy run followed by strides.  I made sure to keep it very slow and ended up with an average pace of 11:42.  I have to admit I was too lazy to do my stretches when I got home, and a few hours after my run I have a lingering pain in my left knee.

Friday 3/20:  I was going to go to Cardio Kickboxing for the first time in ages, but it was cancelled due to the snow (happy spring, huh?).  I took it as a rest day.

Saturday 3/21:  The Fight for Air Stair Climb!  Be sure to check out my recap of the event in case you missed it!

Sunday 3/22:  Went for my 6 mile long run with Bret.  The pace was pretty slow and I felt lots of miscellaneous pain:  left knee, hamstrings, ankles.  Still, it was one of the nicest runs Bret and I have had in a long time.

Monday 3/23:  I really didn’t want to do it, but I ran 4 miles at an easy pace, followed by strides.  My left knee was acting up a little but it died down.

Tuesday 3/24:  Rest!!

Love running past the Schuylkill River!

Week 8 Report Card:

Well, this week’s training really had no significant failures or victories.  I made sure to stick to my proper pace, and I did…so that’s good.  I am still positive that I need to get those darn insoles replaced…I’ve been slacking a bit because of the cost, but I will make sure I take care of it before the big day!

Because of the craziness of this week, I am running my 11-mile long run today!  And it’s going to be VERY challenging, but I’m looking forward to it!  I’m finally coming to the final stretch before I get to taper…the finish line (er, starting line) is almost here!  I’ll give this week a B+!

How is your week going?  Did you have any races last weekend?
