Happy Saturday! I can’t deny that I live for the weekends! Somehow it’s already April, and since it’s the first Saturday of the month, I’m joining in the Ultimate Coffee Date, hosted by Lynda of Fitness Mom Wine Country, Coco at Got2Run4Me, and Deborah of Confessions of a Mother Runner. It’s a great way to slow things down and just reflect on what’s been going on lately! So won’t you join me? I think this time I’ll have some of Oprah’s Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks…when I was in California last week I discovered that it’s pretty good!
Join in the Ultimate Coffee Date and share what's been going on in your life! #ultimatecoffeedate Click To TweetIf we were having coffee, I’d tell you…I was really sad about the winter leaving because I’ve really enjoyed training in the winter. And I even wrote a post about it! But since my trip in California, I am SO over the cold weather! The 80-90 degree temps teased me and now I’m struggling to enjoy runs in 50-60 degree weather! In Philly we still have mornings in the low 30’s…it’s been a struggle! I think I need to find more excuses to escape to the beach!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…I’ve got a guest post coming up on Snacking in Sneakers! I’ll be writing about the benefits of taking it slower when training for a race…kind of like a Tortoise and the Hare debate! When it goes live, I’ll be sure to let you know and hopefully you’ll be able to check it out – here it is! I’m also SUPER excited that I will be a guest host on one of my favorite linkups, Tuesdays on the Run! We’ll be talking about Training and Time Management, so hopefully you will join in the linkup here at Run With No Regrets, MCM Mama Runs, Run the Great Wide Somewhere, or My No Guilt Life this coming Tuesday!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…I’m getting really excited about softball! My team captain and a few of my teammates got together at the batting cages earlier this week. Let me tell you, I have a LOT to learn. I don’t know a thing about how to hit a softball…and I had the “luck” to have the ball bounce off the bat and hit me in the face! But, I am not discouraged. I’ve been reading a ton of articles and I really want to practice and continue to improve. I just miss the days when I was young and things were so much easier to learn! My over-thinking gets me every time! Any and all tips are appreciated!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…I can’t believe the Cherry Blossom Run is 8 days away. It’s crazy! I have one long run today and then I’m tapering until the big race! It’s been an amazing ride these past few months. And I don’t want it to end…so I’ll be continuing to work with Coach Kristy as I gear up for the 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut Half Marathon on June 13! I can’t wait to see what my training plan will look like!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…we don’t have any Easter plans this weekend, unfortunately. Hopefully we can have a nice, quiet brunch and dinner.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…I’m finally motivated to get in better shape and to eat better this month. I’ve been pretty stressed the past several weeks, and I haven’t been eating well at all. Now that I’m seeing the consequences of my bad behavior (particularly in my midsection), it’s time to make a change! No more French fries when I should get a salad. No more buying candy every week. No more takeout when I can make dinner! I have a long overdue appointment with my dietitian and I will be honest with her…I need to get back on track! And even though I’ve been running, I have really neglected strengthening my core and overall stretching. Time to reset!
What would you tell me if we were having coffee? Do you have any special Easter plans?
