If we were having coffee, I’d tell you…all about my trip to New York City a couple of weeks ago!  Bret and I went to NYC not just for a nice Memorial Day Weekend but to root on the Kansas City Royals who were playing the Yankees!  We went to all 3 games and had amazing seats, but wouldn’t you know they didn’t win a single game?!  We seem to have caught them at the start of a slump…go figure.  But it was awesome!

While on our trip we were also able to go for a couple of runs in amazing Central Park.  I love it there!  We were able to visit MOMA, which was a lot of fun.  Modern art has grown on me, but I cannot get into the minimalist stuff!  We had some really good food, from BBQ, to Halal from a food truck!  I wasn’t worrying about being healthy, clearly, but we did a ton of walking, which helped balance things out.  Here are just a few highlights of the trip!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’m very nervous/excited about my final race of the season:  The 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut Half Marathon. It’s only one week away!  I’m so thankful that Zooma went well, but I had an out and back 8 mile run along the half marathon course yesterday and while the trail is beautiful, there are lots of hills and it’s daunting that I’ll have to share the course with 1,000 people! I haven’t run 13.1 since last September for Rock and Roll, so I’m nervous about the distance and heat, especially since I haven’t run double digits in a few weeks!  Do you have any upcoming races or are you done for awhile?

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’m actually looking forward to taking a break from running.  It’s not going to be a long break, but I’m not going to start up fall training until at least July.  And what races do I plan to run?  I still don’t have a clue.  I mentioned in my National Running Day post that I have a lot of options….but nothing is really enticing me right now.  I’ve really loved running 4 days a week and seeing my growth, so I need to keep up my fitness level.  I’m going to be practicing more yoga and strength training.  I’m not used to being in such good running shape, I want to make it last!  Do you have any workout recommendations for a race training break?

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’ve been really working hard with my blogging.  Things were getting a little bit out of control so I had to stop and take the time to get organized and create an editorial calendar for the next few months, not weeks.  I’ve been hopping in on so many (free) webinars to improve my skills, and I’m always reading about blogging.  Here are some of the things I did in the past month:

My traffic went up 1,000 page views from May to June so I’m happy to be trending upward!  I just want to make Run With No Regrets a useful resource for runners.  I am considering monetizing but keep chickening out when it comes to Amazon Affiliates.  Any suggestions on best ways to start monetizing?

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’m finally ready to commit to being healthier.  I’m done with mindlessly snacking on Twizzlers.  Our first Farm Share delivery is coming up and I can’t wait for the inspiration.  I want to cook more and start making muffins and healthy snacks from scratch.  I gained a couple of pounds so I need to clean up my eating, especially if I won’t be running as much for a little while.  I’ll definitely be dropping in on my favorite healthy eating blogs to get some good ideas!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…I’m finally going back to watching General Hospital since Luke Spencer (of Luke and Laura fame, of course), is retiring from the show.  Laura is already back, and his sons Lucky and Ethan are on the way!  I used to love GH, and even adjusted my college schedule to watch it (of course my roommates thought I was crazy!).  The show has been through a lot and near cancellation, but now it’s alive and kicking, but a big hot mess.  Once this story ends, I’ll probably bow out again.  Do you watch soaps?  They’re a little cheesy but I always love some good drama – the actors make it worth watching!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…speaking of throwbacks, I am VERY excited that Angela and Shawn will be on an upcoming episode of Girl Meets World.  You know, the spinoff show with Cory and Topanga’s kids?  I LOVED Shawn and Angela, so I can’t wait to see them shine together.  He’s still in love with her even after all these years…so I guess he’s finally going to get the closure he needs.  Ugh, I hate it!  If you loved Boy Meets World back in the day, they’ve been bringing everyone back for GMW so it’s great to see Cory’s parents, Eric, and Mr. Feeny of course!

What would you share with me if we were having coffee?
