Friday 5 Holiday Wish List

By Janelle @ Run With No Regrets | blogging

Dec 11

The holidays are almost here….2 weeks until Christmas.  Woah.

I’ve been in slight denial that the holidays are almost here, but it’s time to get real.  I still have to do my shopping for loved ones, and hope that I’m on the Nice list to get a few things in return!

So I thought it would be fun to participate in the Friday Five linkup, hosted by the DC Trifecta:  Mar, Courtney, and Cynthia.  It’s been quite some time that I’ve been able to join in the fun, and hopefully it’ll help me get into the Christmas spirit!  Check out their blogs to see what’s on everyone’s holiday wish lists!

For this week's Friday 5, I'm sharing my holiday wish list! Hopefully Santa will hook me up this year!

My Holiday Wish List

I never really want anything for Christmas, and I’m grateful that in my life, I’m at the point where I have just about everything that I need.  That’s why I always struggle with telling people what to get me.  I had to do some thinking and finally figured out what I would love to receive this year!

A Running Belt

I used to have a Nathan running belt when I first started running.  Of course, everyone clowned me for having one, but now I really miss the convenience.  For the past year, I’ve been running with my phone in my left hand (since my cell phone doesn’t fit in my armband), and my hydration in my right hand.  And things get really fun in the winter when you’re wearing gloves (sarcasm).  It’s time to finally get a running belt!

There are so many brands that I’ve heard about…SPIBelt, Flipbelt.  I’m not sure what would work best for me, I just need it to stay still while I run and carry my things so I arms can focus on running!  Do you have any favorites?

Gift Certificates to Buy Work Clothing

Love dressing professionally!

Love dressing professionally!

When I first started my new job, I had to buy a new wardrobe because I had been basically wearing a uniform in the plant for the past 3.5 years.  I spent a small fortune on some great clothing at Banana Republic, H&M, and Express, and not to mention I had to buy real dress shoes!  But now that winter is coming, I need some warmer clothing!  Sweaters, long-sleeved tops, and more slacks are definitely needed!  I would love if someone could hook me up with some gift certificates to places like The Loft, Banana Republic (oh do I love this place!), NY& Company, and even The Gap.  I’m open to suggestions!

A Laptop

I have been searching for a laptop for MONTHS.  I just can’t decide what would work best for me.  It’s so frustrating!

I currently have an 11.6″ Samsung Chromebook, but it’s over 2 years old and it just keeps getting slower and slower.  As a blogger, I really need to be able to not only do word processing but edit photos and do other fun stuff.  A 13 inch screen is definitely needed!  I’ve been thinking of the following brands, but just can’t make up my mind!

I never know what specs to get.  I know that I want at least 256 GB of hard drive space (the Chromebook only has 16 SSD!), 8 GB of RAM, and hopefully a faster processor that’s not outdated too quickly.   And I’m still on the fence as to whether I want/need an optical drive.  Again, I’d love recommendations from Mac and PC lovers!

Better Headphones for Running

Again, I want to be more efficient when I run, so I’d really love some nice headphones for running.  The ones I use now are okay, but difficult to keep in my ears sometimes and I’m always worried that I will lose hearing in one of the earbuds!

I really don’t know which brand would work.  I’ve only heard of Yurbuds being popular.  If there are Bluetooth or wireless options that work for running, that would be great.  I’ve realized I actually like the old-school headphones for running even if they look silly.  Again, any suggestions would be appreciated!

A Blogging Planner

This is a gift that is desperately needed to kick off 2016!  I used a free printable blog planner this year, but never consistently.  I have my blogging resources in several folders and files on Google Drive, I tried Evernote for awhile (and hated it), I use CoSchedule (referral link) for my editorial calendar, but I know for a fact that if I had a real hand-written planner, especially specific for bloggers, that it would be the perfect way for me to keep everything in one place.

I have been searching for a good blogging planner for weeks now.  Etsy has some great resources, and I did notice the Epic Blog Planner and Badass Blogger Planner on Amazon.  Then here are the more general (and expensive) life planners like the Passion Planner and Erin Condren Planner.  Too many choices!

All I know is that I’d prefer something where I don’t have to print it out and bind myself (because who has time for that?!), and would prefer to have all of my blogging information in one place, not just a generic planner.  Again, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

What’s on your holiday wish list?
