The Love Run Relay – New in 2016!
New for 2016, CGI Racing introduces the Love Run Relay on April 10, 2016. Grab two of your running buddies for the three-person relay team!
After years of requests from past runners of the half marathon, the relay option has finally been added as part of the Love Run Philadelphia Half Marathon Weekend. So, for those of you who want to experience the Half Marathon fun…but don’t necessarily want to run 13.1 miles…this relay is for you!
How Does It Work?
Grab two of your best running friends to run the half marathon as a team! Each leg of the race will be between three and five miles. One chip exchange is at Eakin’s Oval and the other will be at the Strawberry Mansion Bridge. Shuttles will be provided to take runners to and from the on-course chip exchange.
What Do You Get?
Each team member gets tons of awesome swag including:
- A premium tech shirt,
- Custom race bib,
- Cool commemorative coffee mug, and
- A fantastic finisher’s medal!
Awards will be given to the fastest men’s, women’s and co-ed teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd).
The relay is limited to the first 500 teams so grab two of your favorite (or fastest) running buddies and don’t miss out on this incredible race weekend. Registration is now open as of midnight on Monday, December 14!

Elle, Philly can be warm in April, I know I’ve had races in mid-April that were in the 60’s, but sometimes it can be a lot colder!

Yes I’m excited for the free mug! Haha, I hear you about racing in warmer weather. My first major race is in April – February and March is too cold for me, lol!
Its always great when race organizers offer alternative and/or shorter distance options for those who aren’t feeling up to running the full distance.

This reminds me of my school time when I had participated in a rally race. That was the first time and the last time I had participated in school Annual day’s function and I enjoyed it a lot. I wish I could join this rally race because I am thousands of miles away and I am not much into running and prefer brisk walking over running.
