Are you dreading the start of a new year and the pressure to “start over”, “lose weight”, and generally get your life together because it’s January 1?

I can definitely relate to that!  We all have health and fitness goals that we want to accomplish, but sometimes it can be really stressful trying to figure out how to get it done and still keep a balanced life!

That’s why I’m really excited about the 21 Day Reset starting this January, hosted by Laura Peifer from Mommy Runs Fast!  Curious about what it is?  Keep reading, and maybe you’ll want to sign up too!

Today I’m linking up at Tuesdays on the Run with Marcia’s Healthy Slice, No-Guilt Life, and MCM Mama Runs.  Check their sites to get some great running tips!

The 21 Day Reset Program is a whole foods challenge to cleanse your mind, body and spirit. And this year there's a focus on strength training for runners! Find out more!

21 Day Reset Starts January 11, 2016

What is the 21 Day Reset?  This is a group challenge that will help you start the year fresh by cleaning up your nutrition and building a baseline to become a stronger runner in 2016!

Laura is a Holistic Health Coach and Certified RRCA Running Coach and has been doing the 21 Day Reset and other wellness challenges for a few years now.  The January Reset program includes the following:

  • Meal plan templates and sample meal plans
  • Healthy, easy seasonal recipes with lots of crock pot ideas
  • Emails with tips and motivation
  • Group accountability through a private Facebook group

Pretty cool right?  Laura always has great recipes on her blog, so I can’t wait to see what she’s cooking up (sorry, I couldn’t resist!).  And I know that I struggle with accountability, so I’m really looking forward to following through on this programt!

What’s really cool though is that for the first time, the reset will have an extra focus for runners who are looking to get stronger in the off-season.  Laura has partnered with Rick Martins, a US kettlebell competitor and trainer to provide extra tips including:

  • Nutrition tweaks to maximize your fitness and strength
  • How to incorporate the four phases of strength training into your running plan
  • Workouts to become a stronger runner

There will also be two live calls for runners to discuss:

  1. How you can incorporate phases of strength training to maximize its effectiveness and get stronger this winter
  2. Nutrition details to eat for strength and performance

Note: You do not have to be a runner to join the challenge! The live calls and bonus materials for runners are optional.

When you sign up, there are several levels of the program that you can choose from – just pick the one that best meets your goals:

  • 21 Day Reset + Workouts
  • 21 Day Reset + Workouts + Probiotics
  • All of the Above + Natural Supplements + 15 Day Supply of Protein Smoothies
  • All of the Above + 30 Days Worth of Protein + Breakthrough Call

My Goals for the Reset

I’ve never done a reset like this and I’m really excited to participate because this group will give me the accountability that I desperately need when it comes to eating healthy!  There have been too many times where I’ve tried to keep a consistent healthy meal plan, do well for a few weeks, and then go back to my old (bad) habits.
I hope the reset will give me the foundation to make healthy eating a bigger part of my lifestyle.  We love to eat fresh, nutritious food, but sometimes we get a little lazy and get takeout or order in instead of creating something from scratch.  I want to change that and get back in the kitchen!

I’m also really excited for the new addition of strength training for runners!  Pretty much all month I’ve been saying how challenging it is to stay motivated to workout without following a training plan, so this is right on time!

I have some big running goals for 2016, but I know I can’t get it done if I don’t take my cross-training seriously.  My hope is that the running tips will help me develop a routine that I can incorporate into my race training so that I can stay strong and injury-free.

The January Reset starts on Monday, January 11!  You can get $10 off registration by using the promo code “blog”.  Let me know if you have any questions, I hope to see you there!

Have you ever done a cleanse?  Do you have any nutrition goals for the New Year?
