Happy New Year! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend – I’m trying till will it to never end.. .wish me luck!
This week is my first meal plan of the new year, so I really want to get started on the right foot. The holidays are over, so now there’s no excuse to keep up those unhealthy habits. I’ve really struggled with my eating over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, and it’s time to stop!

First full weekly meal plan for 2016! #whatsfordinner #mealplanning Click To TweetAs you can imagine, eating over the holidays had a LOT of challenges! We had so many cookies and candies over the past several days, and not enough whole, nutritious foods. Ugh. My body is telling me to stop messing around and get back to eating well! Still, I have no regrets when it comes to enjoying myself over the holidays!
I did do my best to contribute healthy food to Christmas brunch. I made zucchini bread for the first time plus my favorite egg dish. My brother is “anti-quiche” but he tried it and liked it, so that was a win! You try to balance the best you can, but you can’t beat yourself up too much. I’m so glad I enjoyed the holidays!
This week I’m finally inspired to get back on track. I pulled out my 30-Minute Dinners magazine from Better Homes and Gardens and started flipping through the pages. There are so many delicious, healthy recipes that I completely forgot were listed! I really look forward to getting back to these.
I’m really focusing on breakfast and lunch and contributing a couple of dinners for the week. Bret does a great job taking care of dinner, but sometimes I want to throw my hat in the ring too. So we’ll see how that works over the next few weeks.
Right now I’m in limbo while I wait for the January Reset for Runners to begin on January 11! It’s all about learning how to eat clean PLUS build a foundation for strength training as a runner.
