How was your week?  I still can’t believe we’re already in August!  Time flies, but I’m really feeling good with the way things are shaping up this month.  Marathon training has begun and my birthday is coming up!

Since it’s the first Saturday of the month, it’s time to catch up over coffee with the Ultimate Coffee Date, hosted by Deborah, Coco, and Lynda!

Let's catch up on life over a cup of coffee! Time for the #ultimatecoffeedate! Click To Tweet

Ultimate Coffee Date – August 2016

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…how happy I am that the weather is finally cooling down!  80 degrees doesn’t even feel hot anymore.  Isn’t that crazy??

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’m feeling great so far in my first week of marathon training!  This Saturday is a 9-mile long run, but earlier in the week I had hill repeats that were so challenging yet satisfying at the same time.  I’m so excited to see my mileage grow week after week!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’m signed up for the Disney Princess Enchanted 10K in February 2017!  My sister and I will be doing this race together, and she’s even doing the 5K as well! I have never done a Disney race and I really don’t know what I’m getting myself into, but I’m excited!  This race would be all about having fun, taking pictures with Disney characters, and escaping from winter in the Northeast!  Do you have any tips on doing a Disney racecation?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that my blogging focus has been challenging lately.  This summer, I’ve worked hard to create posts that are helpful for others, such as 5 Favorite Things About Being a Blogger, 5 Affordable Hydration Products for Runners, and 40 Tested Marathon Training Tips for First-Timers.  I’ve been trying to create systems for myself to be more organized, brainstorm regularly, and I’m really striving to improve my newsletters (which takes a lot of work!) This month things are already starting to turn around, so I’m excited!  I’ve got some big plans that I’m working on and I can’t wait to share with you all!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that City Fit Girls are having a fitness streak for the month of August, and it’s made me step up my game!  For the streak, you have to run 1 mile or workout 30 minutes each day this month!  So far, I’ve been inspired to rock climb and go for an evening walk with Bret for exercise.  Everyone’s using the hashtag #cfgstreak and it’s motivating to see everyone’s workouts!  You can join in on Instagram and on Facebook!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…about my giveaway for PlateJoy that’s open until August 17.  I’ve really enjoyed using it and finding some great recipes to try, and if you haven’t entered the giveaway yet:  Do it!  If you’re vegan, gluten-free, or even following Whole30, there are meals for you, so you have plenty of options!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…my birthday is coming up and I have NO idea what I would want for a gift.  We could always use more things for the house, but I should probably focus a little bit more on myself.  Is it sad that I’ve been daydreaming about getting a high-quality food processor?  I think I need to go on a clothing shopping spree or hit the spa!

What would you share with me over coffee?
