Is your running/workout playlist getting a little stale?  Need something different to mix things up?  I’ve got something for you.

Now I have to admit that this month’s Throwback Thursday Running Playlist may not be your cup of tea, but hear me out!

Every 2nd Thursday of the month, I’ll be featuring a Spotify playlist featuring Throwback tunes with a theme covering various genres that I loved when I was growing up in the 90’s and early 2000’s.  Last month, I featured Girl Groups like Destiny’s Child, Salt ‘N Pepa and a whole lot more.  It really was fun to listen to that playlist while on the run and even on the road.  It really took me back in time.

So this month, I am showing love to the Boy Bands!  I’m talking about groups of about 3-5 guys singing harmonies and doing some cool choreography, usually wearing crazy matching outfits.  No instrument playing here, sorry!  I hope you enjoy listening to this playlist and try it out while in the gym or out on the run!

Every month I share a "throwback" music playlist perfect for heading out for a run! Check it out and more running resources at runwithnoregrets.com!

Throwback Thursday Running Playlist:  Boy Band Love

I’m just going to put it out there:  I was a boy band lover.  *NSYNC was my everything.  And I still think they were the best boy band of them all!  No, Justin wasn’t my favorite member…he was my second favorite after Lance (still love him!).  I had so many posters of them on my wall, lol…I was a little obsessed!

I was in my teens when the TRL (Total Request Live) culture on MTV was at its peak.  Those were happy times.   I still remember a lot of songs primarily by their music videos!   Pop music was super cheerful and a little corny, but it was all in fun.  And there was always a new song coming out from some random boy band.

When you’re a teenaged girl, watching a bunch of pretty boys singing and dancing is kind of nice!  Okay, maybe I’m speaking for myself here!

So this playlist has a nice variety of the most fun, upbeat songs from the golden age of boy bands.  Check it out and see if any of the songs take you back in time!

Oh, and I have to put it out there:  There’s no New Kids on the Block featured on this playlist.  They’re wayyyy before my time.  I couldn’t tell you a single song they sang!

If you loved Boy Bands back in the day, check out this throwback running playlist featuring songs from your favorite groups like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC! Check out more running playlists at runwithnoregrets.com!

*NSYNC – Again, I was totally in love with *NSYNC, though I didn’t discover how amazing they were until No Strings Attached came out in 2000…so I didn’t have a long time to enjoy them while they were on top.  If they EVER come together for a reunion, I will be in the front row, no matter the cost!

Backstreet Boys – They had some really great ballads, and apparently, they’ve never stopped making music.  They didn’t have as many upbeat jams, but Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) is one of my favorites!

O-Town – This was the original Making the Band!  I used to love watching them on TGIF, I was hooked!  I think they are still together, sans Ashley Parker Angel.

SoulDecision – They were definitely a one-hit wonder, but Faded was my jam!

BBMak – Okay, they were basically a one-hit wonder but I thought they were cute and I liked their accents…sue me!

98 Degrees – I never really paid much attention to 98 Degrees, but they had some pretty good songs.  Remember when Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson had a reality show together?  Oh man, good times…

LFO – They had their sing/rap thing going on.  I was never inspired to wear Abercrombie & Fitch, though, lol.

B2K – I think B2K filled the void of boy band crushes once *NSYNC ended.  I went to see them in concert with Lil’ Bow Wow when I was in high school, lmao!  They were short-lived, but I thought they had some pretty good music.

2Gether – This parody boy band was hilarious!  A TV movie turned TV sitcom.  The lyrics to their songs still crack me up!  Oh, and I thought the shy guy in the group was the cutest, lol!

Five – Another one hit wonder, and I will admit I didn’t know the name of the group without the help of Google!

I’m sharing my playlist with Annmarie, Nicole, Jen, and Michelle for Wild Workout Wednesday, Jill Conyers for Life Fitness and Happiness and Angela and Ilka for Sunday Fitness and Food linkups!

Who was your favorite boy band back in the day?  Which songs/artists did I miss?  And what genre from the 90’s/early 2000’s should I cover next?
