When was the last time you were able to sit down, take a breath, and enjoy a cup of coffee/tea with no sense of urgency?
For me, it has been a LONG time. September was an extremely busy month and I always felt like I was running from one thing to the next. I don’t want to overextend myself in October, but it’s always a tough balance with work, marathon training, home life, and squeezing in a social life!
That’s why I’m really happy that it’s time for the Ultimate Coffee Date, hosted by Deborah, Coco, and Lynda! Every first Saturday of the month is an opportunity to slow things down, collect your thoughts, and share what’s on your mind. Won’t you join us?
Time for the #ultimatecoffeedate - let's unwind and chat! Click To TweetIf we were having coffee, I would tell you…that Philly is finally in autumn, one of my favorite times of the year! While it’s been a bit rainy this week, I welcome the cooler weather with open arms! The fall is fun for so many reasons, but I’m definitely excited that my marathon training runs will start feeling a lot less miserable! What are your favorite things to do in the fall?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that with fall being here, I’m really excited about the new television season. I am already 2 weeks behind on How to Get Away With Murder, but I hope to catch up this weekend! I’ve started to watch Designated Survivor and it’s pretty good, though a little too real with current events. I’m also back to watching General Hospital after quitting for 2 years and catching up on Veep. What are your favorite shows?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that my blogging motivation has been at an all-time low. The entire month of September flew by and while I set several blogging goals, none of them came close to happening. I don’t want to waste my time writing blog posts that are meaningless or “writing just to write”…so things have been pretty quiet. I need to schedule a better time for blogging…I’m usually too drained by the time I get home, and when I write at 5 am, I feel rushed. It may be an excuse, but I still haven’t gotten my workspace/home office together. I need to buy a new desk where I can blog, write, and brainstorm…I saw one at IKEA that I liked, but I don’t want to pay $500 for something that I still have to assemble myself, lol. Any recommendations on where to buy a nice desk (that’s already assembled)?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’m looking forward to the If Girls Ran the World Challenge, which just kicked off on 10/1! I’m starting it off with a 10-mile run, and I will be posting my miles on my fundraising page. My goal is to raise $250 by October 31. If you’re able to donate even a small amount, it would be much appreciated, as proceeds will go to Girls in Tech, a great organization. I appreciate your support!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that homeownership continues to be an adventure. We had quite an entertaining presentation by a gutter guard company that shall remain nameless…needless to say, we’re not paying $5,000 for the “Rolls Royce” of gutters. Bret and his mom have been extremely busy with landscaping the yard – building a retaining wall, moving and removing trees and bushes, stocking up on compost. While I’ve helped some days, it’s really his passion project. I’m more interested in creating a patio behind the house, but I need to decide what kind of pavers I’d want to buy. We still have so much work to do before I even consider having a housewarming party, but it seems that the work is never done!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’m looking forward to a quiet month. I had so many busy weekends in September, and while I enjoyed them, it made things a bit stressful. October should be really low-key and I can’t wait to get some time to relax…even though I’ll be piling on the miles in marathon training, haha!
What would you share with me over coffee?
