The year 2016 continues to wind down! I’m anxious to start up a new year, but why not do a little bit more reflection and looking back on how things shaped up on the blog for the year?
Since 2016 is almost wrapped up, I thought now would be a good time to look back at some of the most popular posts at Run With No Regrets this year. While I didn’t get to write as often as I would have liked, I’m still proud of what I was able to do this year and share with you all! Why Nike Training Is Awesome: App Review – This overview of the Nike Training Club smartphone app continues to be my most steady stream of traffic. A few months ago, NTC had a huge overhaul, so I need update this post as I thoroughly check out all of the changes! and make sure I update this post!
Tough Mudder Training Tips – The Ultimate Guide – I really enjoyed writing this detailed guide for training for the Tough Mudder. I completed this event back in fall 2015 and it was an amazing experience. I never saw myself as “mud runner” but it proved to be a great challenge and a lot of fun! Check out this post if you’re curious about what it takes to train and what are the best types of mud running gear to use!
Warning: What NOT To Do When Running In the Dark – This is another post that I am happy that people are drawn to! It’s so important to take the right precautions when you’re running in the dark, whether it’s first thing in the morning or late at night. I actually recently got some Knuckle Lights to review thanks to being a BibRave Pro and I look forward to sharing my experiences using them when running at night!
How to Stay Motivated to Run Solo – This post has some quick tips to keep up your motivation when running on your own. I originally wrote this in the summer of 2015. It can be tough to stay motivated when you’re not in training mode, but there are a few things you can do to get back out there and keep yourself accountable!
How to Avoid 5 Common Race Day Mistakes – Bloggers, do you have any posts where you look back and think, “Man, I really need to take my own advice?”. This is one of those posts! It may be common sense, but these race-day mistakes happen all too often! For example, it’s so important to know all of your logistics well in advance to avoid having a stressful race day.

I am still in disbelief that now I’m at the point where I can give advice about running a marathon! 🙂
How to Stop Hating the Treadmill This Winter – I really enjoyed creating this post and enjoy sharing workouts from my fellow running and fitness bloggers! I plan to have more practical running posts like this moving forward into 2017! If you’re already starting to have some crazy winter weather, it may not hurt to check this out if you haven’t already!
DNS a Race? 8 Tips for Moving On – I was happy to see this post pick up a little bit of traction, it was an interesting topic from the Tuesdays on the Run linkup. I’ve had many races where I had to DNS due to injury, and it’s SO frustrating, especially when you’re already started to train for that race. It’s a tough part of being a runner, but it was great to write about it and hear other people’s experiences in the comments!
5 Reasons to Run the Perfect 10 Miler – This was simply a post to promote the Perfect 10 Miler, which I participated as an ambassador and ran for the first time. It really was a fun race, but I wish I had completed it with some girlfriends to have the full experience! It’ll be back in late October and I highly recommend it!
Throwback Thursday Running Playlist: Boy Bands – I’m happy to know that there is still a lot of love for the Boy Bands of back in the day! Creating the Throwback Thursday Running Playlist series on the blog was definitely one of my highlights of the year! I’m still not sure if I’m going to continue with these on a monthly basis – maybe it would be best to share them quarterly? I’d love to know what you think! I still have a lot of throwback music to share, haha!
