Happy New Year! I hope 2017 is already off to a strong start for you!
I’m so excited because today is the first ever Tunes Tuesday! It’s a brand new linkup hosted by Kimberly at Kooky Runner, Steffany at Run Steff Run and me! Every Tuesday we’ll be sharing our favorite music with a different theme each week. We hope it’ll be a fun way to find new music to listen to and also get to know each other a little bit better!
Since it’s the first Tuesday, we’re talking about music that motivates us! I’ve created a playlist of my favorite songs that will help keep me motivated in the New Year! Keep reading to check out my picks, and maybe let me know which songs I missed!
I’m also joining Marcia, Patty, and Erika for the first Tuesdays on the Run of 2017!
Join @kookyrunner, @sas_rubel and @Janelle_RWNR for #tunestuesday, a new linkup for music loving runners! #runchat Click To TweetDo you enjoy the start of a new year? I most definitely do! It’s a great time to reflect and to refresh a few things in your life.
One thing that I definitely need to refresh is my music playlist, haha! I have to admit that when it comes to listening to music, I’ve been pretty stuck in the past, hence the creation of my Throwback Thursday Running Playlist series on the blog! But I’m really excited about the start of Tunes Tuesday and picking up some new musical inspiration from everyone who participates!
I have so many goals for 2017 and I plan to work hard to make them happen. And while I get much of that work done, my Motivating Songs for 2017 playlist will be my personal soundtrack for the year! It’s full of variety and maybe a little bit random, but I plan to grow this playlist throughout the year and share it with you all! The first Tuesday of every month is dedicated to Motivating Songs, and I thought with the start of a new year, it would be fun to create a playlist of some of my favorite motivating jams!
Sia – Titanium, The Greatest: I just love Sia’s voice and I think she’s amazing.
The Script – Hall of Fame: I’ve been a fan of The Script for a few years now and I really enjoy their music!
Alicia Keys – Girl On Fire: Even though I always think of The Hunger Games when I hear this song, I can’t help but love it!
DJ Khaled – We Takin’ Over, All I Do Is Win: Some good party music and a good boost to the self-esteem, lol!
Katy Perry – Roar: Maybe it’s the Leo in me but I like this song, haha!
Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten: Such a great message in this song!
OutKast – So Fresh, So Clean: Some swag is necessary for this song!
Eminem – Not Afraid: The Recovery album may be one of my favorites from Eminem, so good!
Pharrell – Happy: Such a great upbeat song even though we’ve all heard it a million times!
Flo Rida – Good Feeling: I still play the heck out of this song, haha!
George Michael – Faith: Such a great song, RIP George Michael.
fun – We Are Young: They used to play this song to death, haha, but I really like it!
Rihanna – Diamonds: Shine bright!
Capital Cities – Safe And Sound: One of my favorites!
Daft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: I LOVE this group…you’ll see a lot more Daft Punk in future Tunes Tuesday posts!
Lady Gaga – The Edge of Glory: Probably one of my top 3 favorite Lady Gaga songs!
LMFAO – Sexy and I Know It: I heard this song at barre class and I knew I had to add it to the playlist!
For this specific link up we will operate on a four-week schedule. Each week will have a specific theme. You can take the theme any way you choose, be creative and just have fun with it!
