Do you think there’s an age limit to enjoying Disney?  I used to think so, but now, I’m starting to think differently…

It’s time for another Tunes Tuesday linkup with Steff from Run Steff Run and Kimberly from Kooky Runner.  This week, the theme is to share your current favorite music.  Since I’m just returning from Orlando for Disney Princess Weekend, I’ve had a bit of a Disney kick!  Look to Wednesday’s post for a full recap of my race experience!

We’re so excited to have you share your favorite music with us each week!  We’re looking for inspiration for our running and workout playlists and even a “jog” down memory lane as you share your favorite jams!

I’m also joining Patty, Erika, Marcia and for Tuesdays on the Run and  Ilka and Angela for the Sunday Fitness and Food linkup!

Tunes Tuesday: Disney Favorites

Are you or were you a Disney fan?  I’m a kid of the 90’s, so I’m most familiar with the “golden age” of Disney movies including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.  Growing up, we were always excited when the next Disney movie would come out.  How many people remember all the girls dressing up in Belle’s gold dress for Halloween?  And all of the Disney merchandise: dolls, figurines, board games, Happy Meals…it was crazy back then!

My favorite movie by far is Aladdin.  I think Aladdin has the best soundtrack of all the Disney movies!  The orchestration is fantastic and of course, Robin Williams as the Genie is the best thing ever!  If you’ve never seen Aladdin the TV Series or Aladdin and the King of Thieves…do it!

I know people are really excited about the Beauty and the Beast live-action movie coming out with Emma Watson, but I love the original movie just the way it is!  While at Disney for Princess Weekend, I chatted with a woman who is obsessed with Belle and she convinced me to give the new movie a chance.  I know it’ll be a huge hit.

But without further ado, here is a collection of my favorite Disney songs as part of my Current Random Favorites playlist on Spotify!  Hopefully, you enjoy it!

Featured Songs: Disney Movie Favorites

Colors of the Wind – Pocahontas:  I wish Pocahontas was more popular as she was my favorite Princess for years!  I even had the Barbie doll!

Belle – Beauty and the Beast:  How could you not love this song!  I know so many girls looked up to Belle growing up!

Be Our Guest – Beauty and the Beast:  Such a fun and joyful song!

Beauty and the Beast – Beauty and the Beast:  The song and dance that changed everything…

Part of Your World – The Little Mermaid:  Ariel’s

Kiss the Girl – The Little Mermaid:  There’s so much suspense during this part of the movie, right?  Such a fun song!

Poor Unfortunate Souls – The Little Mermaid:  Ursula is the truth!  Probably one of my favorite villains!

Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid:  Classic!!

Arabian Nights – Aladdin:  One of my all-time favorite Disney songs!  I still can’t believe they changed the lyrics (“where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face”)…yet kept, “it’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home”….but I digress!

A Whole New World – Aladdin:  Minus the fact that Al was lying to Jasmine, this is still a wonderful song!

One Jump Ahead – Aladdin:  This is such a fun song that is one of my favorites!  Aladdin is so much more than a street rat!

Circle of Life – The Lion King:  Definitely one of the best opening songs of a Disney movie!

I Just Can’t Wait to Be King – The Lion King:  Jason Weaver does a great job as young Simba!

Hakuna Makata – The Lion King:  I need to tell myself this phrase more often!

Can You Feel the Love Tonight – The Lion King:  Classic Disney love song.

Go the Distance – Hercules:  Inspiring if not a little cheesy!

Zero to Hero – Hercules:  I love the gospel vibe throughout the movie!

Topsy Turvy – The Hunchback of Notre Dame:  This is probably my favorite part of the movie!

The Bells of Notre Dame – The Hunchback of Notre Dame:  The choir sounds fantastic and really takes you back in time.

Hellfire – The Hunchback:  Very powerful, though still a bit creepy for a Disney movie!

Honor to Us All – Mulan:  I love this song, so catchy!

Reflection – Mulan:  A classic!

Almost There – The Princess & The Frog:  This song played during the Disney Princess 10K and it was really motivating!

Dig a Little Deeper – The Princess & The Frog:  Another fantastic gospel song!  I just learned that Jenifer Lewis sang in this movie…I love her!

When We’re Human – The Princess & The Frog:  I love that jazzy New Orleans sound!
