Are you ready to rock?  It’s time for Tunes Tuesday hosted by Kimberly at Kooky Runner, Steffany at Run Steff Run and me!  The theme this week is pump-up music, and I’m going to switch things up and share some jams to rock out to!

In case you’ve missed it, here are my previous pump up-themed Tunes Tuesday posts:

Every Tuesday we’ll be sharing our favorite music with a different theme each week.  We hope it’ll be a fun way to find new music to listen to and also get to know each other a little bit better!

I’m also joining Erika, Patty, and Marcia for Tuesdays on the Run!

Let's rock out with this week's #tunestuesday - we're sharing music that pumps us up and I'm ready to rock! #runchat Click To Tweet

Tunes Tuesday: Pump Up Rock Music

If you’re surprised that I even like rock music, I don’t blame you for that reasoning, but I’m a student of all different genres of music!  In light of the recent passing of rock ‘n roll legend Chuck Berry, I thought it was time to show some rock appreciation on a Tunes Tuesday post!

How was I exposed to rock music?  The radio, TRL in the early 2000’s, playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band on the Wii/XBox, and playing various rock classics in my college pep band.  Rock is such a broad genre and covers so many different styles.  There’s the laidback stuff, the really intense angry stuff, meaningful lyrics, and straight-up stoned nonsense.  I tried to show some variety in my pump up playlist, but it’s really scratching the surface! One thing I know for sure is that rock music has a special way of really getting you hyped up!

Just hit shuffle and enjoy some more of my Tunes Tuesday Pump Up Music, this week featuring rock!

Featured Artists:  Let’s Rock!

If you need some rock songs to get you pumped out, check out this playlist! You can find a new playlist every week on Tunes Tuesday at runwithnoregrets.com! Add these songs to your running playlist!

Chuck Berry – Johnny B. Goode:  Yes, this song always makes me think of Back to the Future, one of my all-time favorite movies!  I had to give props to the originator of rock!

Linkin Park – Faint:  This song always pumps me up!  This is probably the only rock concert I’d want to go to and hopefully come back in one piece, haha!

Papa Roach – Last Resort:  Thank TRL for me knowing the words to this song, haha!

Queen – We Will Rock You:  An absolute classic still played at every sports event to get the crowd hype!

The Strokes – Reptilia:  One of my favorite songs to play on Guitar Hero, LOL!

Pearl Jam – Even Flow:  How about a little bit of grunge music?  Great song!

You may also like:  Tunes Tuesday: Current Favorites from George Michael and TLC

Metallica – Enter Sandman:  I tend to enjoy the slower Metallica tunes (like Nothing Else Matters) but this is such a great song to get you amped up!

System of a Down – Chop Suey!:  If you were expecting this song on my playlist, I’m very impressed!  Used to love this song back in the day!

blink-182 – The Rock Show:  Remember when these guys were hugely popular?  I had to show them some love!

AC/DC – Back in Black:  Classic!  I really need to check out more of their tunes!

Guns N’ Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine: I have to admit that I learned about this song by playing it in the pep band in college.  Always fun!

Muse – Uprising:  I absolutely love Muse!  I need to just dedicate a whole day to listening to them.  This is one of my favorites.

Limp Bizkit – Rollin’:  Remember these guys?  OMG!  I don’t even know what to say, lol!

Coldplay – Adventure of a Lifetime:  Coldplay is more of a slower tempo rock band but I do love their upbeat songs too!
