It’s the first weekend in May! I hope you’re having a great day so far – personally, I’m glad to have another weekend at home!
It’s the first Saturday in May, meaning that it’s time to join Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date! While this is a running blog, sometimes it’s refreshing to just talk about everyday life! Let’s catch up!

Click To TweetIf we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’m realizing I may need to a new pair of running shoes and I’m a little annoyed! My current pair, Adidas Supernova 8’s, is normally great and I’ve had multiple pairs over the years, but the salesperson convinced me to a buy them a half size smaller than I usually wear and they are NOT comfortable on even the shortest of runs. The Buffalo Half Marathon is 3 weeks away and there’s no way I want to risk my race with these shoes so it looks like I’ll have to buy some new Mizuno Wave Riders…ugh! Running gets expensive!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…on the bright side, I’m currently testing out the OOFOS OOmg recovery shoe and I’m in love! I’ll be posting a review in a couple of weeks, but spoiler alert – they’re comfortable, they’re stylish, and they really work. I wore them after my 8 miler last weekend while I was out and about and I felt amazing! If you’re interested, you can save 10% on a pair (or other OOFOS products) with code OOFOSBibPro10B!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I was dreading another season of softball but after our first game this past week, I remember why I enjoy it so much. Even though we lost horribly, I still had a fun time. So this year, I am finally going to commit to putting in the work to learn how to properly hit the ball! My form is atrocious and the only way I can fix it is with practice! If you have any tips, I appreciate it!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I am SO over the stress and endless hard work involved with blogging. As this year has gone by, I’ve realized that I just don’t have big blogging ambitions anymore. For example, I was really determined to create my own Facebook group for the blog. I wanted to grow to 1,000 email subscribers. And of course, bloggers must constantly work on growing their traffic! But having so many blogging goals has simply become far too overwhelming, and as I grow older, my time becomes more valuable. I have a full-time job that pays well…I don’t want or need blogging to be my side hustle. I don’t want to read about the latest thing all “Bloggerpreneurs” must do/purchase anymore. I’ve been unsubscribing from popular bloggers’ email lists, removing myself from Facebook groups, and finally took the plunge and left a group that I had been paying for, but not participating in months. It’s liberating!
Now, of course, that doesn’t mean that I’m going away. I love this blog! And I will still be posting about training, sharing product reviews and race recaps, and offering running advice for beginners. But I just can’t have the blogging world dominate my life anymore. Can you relate?
Okay, I think I’ve spilled enough coffee/tea for one day! How have you been? What would you share with me over coffee?
