I hope you’re having a great week.  Remember, this is our very last weekly post for Tunes Tuesday – we’re changing things starting in August!

The Tunes Tuesday linkup is hosted by Steff from Run Steff Run,  Kimberly from Kooky Runner, and me!  We’d love you to link up with us and share your favorites each month – August’s theme will be songs for the End of Summer!

That means today is the last weekly Tunes Tuesday, and since it’s the fourth week in July, we’re sharing our current favorites. What type of music are you listening to lately?  In light of the sudden loss of lead singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, I thought I would share of my favorite Linkin Park songs this week.  Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

And in case you missed it – here are my previous current favorite tunes:

Tunes Tuesday – Current Favorites from Linkin Park:

Like many people, I was shocked when I heard the sad news that Chester Bennington passed away by suicide.  Linkin Park is a band that I grew up with in my teen years and enjoyed in college. I remember when I was in high school I watched an MTV concert special featuring Linkin Park and I “discovered” how talented they were and put on a great show.   I also had a college roommate my junior year who was IN LOVE with the group, and I’d often hear her blasting their tunes in her room a couple doors down from me.

Since hearing of the loss of Chester, I’ve had so many different Linkin Park songs in my head, especially from the early days.  Their lyrics were always very emotional and full of pain.  I know that Linkin Park’s music helped countless people through tough times and to cope with mental health issues, serving as a form of “therapy”.  It’s just so sad that Chester’s life had to end so soon.

Here are a few of my favorite Linkin Park songs.

This quickly became one of my favorite Linkin Park songs.  Well-written, well-executed.

The Collison Course Mashup EP with Linkin Park and Jay-Z is one of my favorites!  Such a great collaboration.

If I wanted to rock out, this is the song that I would turn on and turn up!

What I’ve Done

Can I admit I first got to know this song from playing Guitar Hero?  Lol!  It’s a nice change of pace from the band…really good song.

Rolling in the Deep (Cover)

This is an awesome cover of Adele’s song, it really blew me away.  RIP, Chester.
