Are you looking for a little independence to add to your running playlist? This week’s Tunes Tuesday has you covered!
It’s that time again – Tunes Tuesday, hosted by Kimberly at Kooky Runner, Steffany at Run Steff Run and me! Every Tuesday we share some of our favorite tunes with a different theme this week!
Since it’s the first Tuesday of July, I thought it would be fitting to share some independence-related tunes to motivate you on this Fourth of July! As usual, I try to be as eclectic as possible, so there are a few surprises on my playlist!
So far, I’ve shared the following motivating music for Tunes Tuesday:
I hope you enjoy my selections for this week! Be sure to stop by Kim and Steff’s sites and find even more tunes!
Happy 4th of July! This week for #tunestuesday I'm sharing some of my favorite songs of freedom! Click To TweetSummertime is in full swing and it’s clearly the season for backyard parties and barbecues! One of my favorite things to do in the summer is hang out and listen to some music and enjoy some good food! We’ve been working on building a patio in our backyard this summer, and once it’s done, I’ll be all about entertaining!
In honor of Independence Day, I couldn’t resist creating a playlist related to independence and freedom! These songs are great to add to your music playlist while enjoying some BBQ with family and friends this holiday! And if you know me and my playlists, I like to keep the mix as interesting as possible!
Check out my latest update to my Tunes Tuesday Motivational Songs on Spotify – now with some freedom-themed tunes added to the collection!
Lenny Kravitz – Fly Away: I still rock out to this song as often as I can! I’ll stop whatever I’m doing whenever I hear it, lol!
Miley Cyrus – Party in the U.S.A.: Love her or hate her, this is a catchy song by Miley!
Twenty One Pilots – Ride: This is my jam! I thought this band was going to be huge, and I haven’t heard anything from them since this song, go figure! I love this one in the car!
Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa – Young, Wild and Free: Now I’m not endorsing the, ahem…activities discussed in this song
Coldplay ft. Seeb – Hymn for the Weekend: I really like this remixed version by Seeb
James Brown – Living in America: I still have never seen a Rocky film but the late great James Brown killed it on this song!
Queen – We Are the Champions: Sometimes I just need a boost and singing that I’m a champion hits the mark!
Bobby Brown – My Prerogative: The original R&B bad boy…haters are gonna hate no matter what you do. This song just fits for me right now!
DNCE – Cake by the Ocean: Does anyone else really love this song? I have no idea what the lyrics mean but it’s just too fun for me not to enjoy!
Queen – I Want to Break Free: Queen is amazing. I’ve just always loved this song!
U2 – Pride (In the Name of Love): This song is so inspiring. I don’t listen to a ton of U2 but this is one of their great classics!
Martha Reeves and the Vandellas – Dancing in the Streets: Isn’t this such a fun song?
DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince – Summertime: Since I live in Philly, we hear this one a lot! It’s a classic summer song!
Kelis – 4th of July (Fireworks): I recently came across this song and I love it! Kelis is amazing, and this album is so different from her usual R&B style, but it works perfectly!
For this specific link up we will operate on a four-week schedule. Each week will have a specific theme. You can take the theme any way you choose, be creative and just have fun with it!
I’m also linking up with Marcia, Patty, and Erika for Tuesdays on the Run!
What motivating or “liberating” songs would you add to the list?
