Tunes Tuesday Random Favorites:  Nelly Furtado

When Nelly Furtado came out with “I’m Like a Bird” back in 2000, she was SO unique and unlike any other pop singer that was in the mainstream.  I instantly became a fan!  Nelly has this way of writing incredible lyrics that are full of meaning and her voice just soars!  Since I’ve been listening to a lot of Nelly Furtado lately, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites.  I tried to go with some of the more upbeat songs, but Nelly is SO versatile and has a great catalog of music.  She even has an all-Spanish album!

You can find all her music on Spotify, but my random favorites are highlighted below!

Turn off the Lights (Remix)

I LOVE this remix with Timbaland and Ms. Jade!  They used to play it on urban radio all the time when I was in high school.  Everything just fits together perfectly!

Say It Right

I don’t think anyone predicted the huge success that Nelly Furtado would have once she teamed up with producer Timbaland, but I honestly think that the Loose album is a classic!  Say It Right is one of my favorites, but this album has hit after hit after hit!

Spirit Indestructible

This is a great song that I can’t get out of my head.  It’s a shame that it didn’t get any radio play.  The drums in the song give me life!

Pipe Dreams

This is one of Nelly’s newest songs and as you can see, she’s taken her music in another direction!  This new Indie sound is really cool and she has a brand new album called “The Ride” and really feeling it!

Tunes Tuesday Linkup:  Going Monthly Starting in August!

Tunes Tuesday is going to get a little bit of a shakeup…

It’s been a lot of fun sharing my favorite tunes with you every week since January 2017, but starting in August, the Tunes Tuesday linkup will be going from weekly to monthly!  We hope that this new format will encourage more participation from our fellow running and healthy living bloggers!  Every month will have a specific theme and don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of time to prepare your post and keep it open for a couple of weeks!

What I love about Tunes Tuesday is how much it has energized my running and workout playlists!  I’ve rediscovered songs that I forgot that I love, and I’ve been introduced to a lot of new music from fellow participants.  We hope that moving Tunes Tuesday to monthly will give folks more time to queue up their favorite songs and share with us all!

Starting in August, Tunes Tuesday will take place on the first Tuesday of each month and the theme will be Songs for the End of Summer!   Steff, Kim, and I can’t wait for you to join the party with us!

Do you enjoy any songs from Nelly Furtado?  Will you join us in our new monthly linkup (I hope you say yes!)?
