Can I get a TGIF? Was this a super long, super busy week for anyone else, or is it just me?
November is flying by, so much so that Thanksgiving is less than a week away! But even though we’re only halfway through the month, I am starting my Runfessions a week early while I have the time! On the last Friday of every month, Marcia hosts Runfessions, a great opportunity to get some things off your chest! I’m also linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday 5 2.0! Check all of their sites to see what everyone is up to!
Life is so crazy I'm spilling my #runfessions on the blog a week early! #runchat Click To TweetOn Saturday I’m running the Rothman 8K for the first time as part of Philadelphia Marathon Weekend. I haven’t run an 8K since 2012…so I’m really nervous about how this will go! While I am running this race only for “fun”, I can’t help but wonder how well I will do. Since I’ve been in my “off-season” for the past month, I’m not sure if I’m in good enough shape to do well. I know, it’s silly…why put so much pressure on myself? I guess I can’t help it! Maybe I’m still a little bummed about the Oktoberfest 10K a couple of weeks ago…I started out way too fast and the hills were torture! Thankfully, this race will be flat and it won’t be raining! We’ll see how it goes!
I feel like a broken record but trust me on this…colder running weather is the ish! I’m so happy that fall finally feels like fall! This is the type of weather I was hoping to have in October, but Mother Nature had other plans. While I’m only running about 2-3 days a week, it feels wonderful to step out my door in the 40’s and 50’s. I even had a couple of runs in the upper 30’s that were amazing! I almost wish I registered for a race in November/December, but it just wasn’t meant to be this year. Climate change is no joke, you guys!
I loved seeing all of the pictures on Instagram of some of my favorite bloggers at Rock ‘n Roll Vegas this past weekend. But I have to runfess that I’m so envious of you guys! While I have done a lot of racing this year, I didn’t get to meet too many of my fellow running bloggers in 2017. A huge highlight was getting to hang out with Kim of KookyRunner at RNR Montreal and Brooklyn. I hope we get to run together again next year, and I’d love to meet with even more of you too!
So tell me…what are you guys planning to do in 2018? I would love to be a part of a #holottafun weekend or some kind of racecation! I won’t be able to travel nearly as much as I did in 2017 since I’m planning my wedding for next fall, but if there is a meetup happening, let me know!!
For the past few weeks, I have loved being back at my local yoga and barre studio. And it makes me feel great to know that there are people in class who have missed me! I’ve been taking barre classes about twice a week and let me tell you…my muscles are in some kind of pain almost every day! It’s never easy, and since I had been out of practice, I made sure not to try to be a hero and pushed too hard. My hips, glutes, and upper body are getting one heck of a workout, and I love it! I will definitely be sad when I have to start cutting back my cross-training when I get into marathon training this winter…
I still haven’t selected Marathon #2! I need to make a decision soon so that Bret can’t talk me out of it! Honestly, I have to runfess that I haven’t signed up for a race of any distance yet for 2018. As usual, I like to not repeat too many races, so I probably won’t sign up for the Cherry Blossom Run, the Love Run, the Broad Street Run, or Rock ‘n Roll DC. What races are you looking forward to in the spring? I need some inspiration!
What Runfessions would you share with me? Are you looking forward to the holidays?
