The first quarter of 2018 is complete! Now that we’ve entered April, it’s time for me to review my progress in March and see how I plan to move forward!
We made it through March! What a long, crazy month full of random snow storms almost every week! This was my highest mileage month EVER with just a little over 135 miles, amazing! Here are the goals that I set for myself for March:
Write in my Training Journal immediately post-workout: Grade: F. For whatever reason, I just could not commit to this goal. It seemed that I did an even worse job than usual, sometimes ending up 3-4 days behind. I got more consistent at the end of the month, but I still think an F is appropriate.
Minimize stress and improve time management:Grade: C. I’m doing my best to improve in this area, but March was just so darn busy. I’m trying to do a better job of delegating wedding responsibilities so at least that stress can die down. I think April is when I’ll really see if these few changes will make a difference.
Perform daily injury prevention activities:Grade: B-. I haven’t been doing as many exercises as I should, but I am definitely improving in this area. It’s definitely becoming more of a priority and routine!
Religiously perform every single injury prevention exercise. As I’ve been mentioning over the past several weeks, it’s time for me to really take my prehab seriously if I want to be able to get through the marathon! I have EXTRA motivation now to make sure I do everything I can to be healthy for race day!
Use Hello Fresh to stay on top of cooking healthy meals. I’m really excited that I finally took action when it comes to my meal planning anxiety by signing up for Hello Fresh. So far, we’re enjoying the meals and I will definitely continue to use it as a tool to keep us on top of healthy eating! PS – you can save $40 on your first box with my referral code!
Complete the New Jersey Marathon strong and with a smile! Do I have a time goal for my second marathon? Nope! While I definitely want to do better than the Philadelphia Marathon, more than anything I want to finish this race knowing that I executed my plan as best as possible and with the appreciation that I can do hard things! I’ve already started to visualize myself running across the finish line, and I want it to be a joyful experience. I’ve worked so hard and I can’t wait to see it all come to fruition….just a few more weeks!
How did you do in the month of March? What are your running goals for April?
