As a runner, taking care of your feet is ESSENTIAL. And yet, it often seems to find its way near the bottom of the priority list. Since I’m currently dealing with plantar fasciitis after a long marathon training cycle, let’s say that I’ve truly learned this lesson the hard way – don’t neglect your feet!
The good news is that with the proper stretches, icing, and arch support, I seem to have a pretty positive prognosis. One element that is absolutely helping in my recovery is OOFOS Oolala Sandals. I already owned a pair of OOFOS OOriginal sandals that I purchased after falling in love with the OOFOS OOmg Recovery Shoes that I reviewed for Bibrave last year. I’m a huge fan of the brand and I’m happy to share why you need to add OOFOS to your running shoe collection!Check out my review of the @oofos Oolala recovery sandals, I'm a huge fan! #feeltheoo #oofosbr #bibchat Click To Tweet
In case you’ve never heard of the OOFOS brand, let me tell you a little bit more about how they work. These aren’t your average flip-flops. They are designed specifically to help with recovery, made up of a proprietary OOfoam technology that absorbs 37% more impact than other footwear foams. This feature effectively helps you reduce stress on your body when walking and allows you to recover quicker after a workout.
When you try on OOFOS, it feels a little weird, lol! I think it’s because we’re so used to insoles that aren’t very supportive. Unlike most shoes, OOFOS cradle your arches, providing the perfect amount of support. Once you get used to the feeling, or in other words #feeltheoo, you’ll be hooked!
Here are a few more highlights on the OOFOS OOlala:
They come in a variety of colors, like latte (pictured above), navy, crimson red, flamingo, black glitter, and many more!
I have really enjoyed wearing the OOFOS OOlala these past few weeks. I wear them around the house on a regular basis – they’re actually the first thing I put on in the morning when I get out of bed. It provides immediate relief. I’ve even worn these shoes during a trip to the mall and on a long walk – I’m talking 3-4 miles – and they are VERY comfortable, more so than most other shoes that I would wear!
I must admit that the orange color is VERY bright. It definitely turns heads and I’ve gotten some questions from people when they see me in the shoes. I’m always happy to tell them about the OOFOS brand since they’ve been such a game-changer for me! When I went to see the podiatrist for my plantar fasciitis, I wore my OOFOS to the appointment and she is a huge fan. That doctor’s endorsement was great to hear!
Well the chilly, rainy days seem to be behind us and the back patio is thankfully shady enough to enjoy the current 85 degrees this evening! I’ve been living in my @oofos sandals all weekend. Now that I’ve “officially” got plantar fasciitis, we are gonna be inseparable for the next few weeks. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, father figures and pet poppas! Enjoy the day! #oofosbr #bibchat #fitbloggroup #feeltheoo #fathersday
Since being treated for my foot injury, I’ll be sidelined for a few weeks from running – but if I did have any races, I would absolutely pack the OOlala’s in my bag for post-run recovery. THE OOriginal OOFOS have been my go-to for a while, and they instantly make my feet feel better after a long race. When I get back to running Bibrave-sponsored races in our signature orange, you know I’ll have to wear my Oolala’s to complete the look!
So if you’re looking for a great shoe that provides TLC to your feet as a runner, make sure you check out the OOFOS Oolala’s! I’m hoping to add even more pairs to my collection! And I truly believe they will help me get rid of this darn Plantar Fasciitis!
