Is this the longest winter ever, or what?! We’re entering March, but that darn groundhog had me fooled – I thought we’d have a taste of spring by now!

In any event, since it’s the first Saturday of the month, it’s time to join Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date! This is a virtual coffee date where we all share what’s been going on in our lives lately, and not just talk about health and fitness! Won’t you grab a cup and join me?

Ultimate Coffee Date – March 2019

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I am glad that February is OVER! It has been an extremely busy and extremely STRESSFUL month, and I’ve been absolutely exhausted. I’m looking forward to a more relaxing March! I also plan to do a heck of a lot more self-care. I really ran myself ragged in February.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I have still been doing a lot of reading! Last month was a mix of hardcover and audiobooks. I actually hosted this month’s book club with the neighborhood, and I was so NERVOUS about the whole thing, worried that my house would be judged or criticized, that sort of thing. Thankfully, we had a very nice time! We read The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn and my neighbor brought an article from the New Yorker that basically said that the author is a fraud! Who knew? I also just finished the audiobook of The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish and it was fantastic! I am officially a fan now!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I’ve been doing a lot of tidying at home, and Marie Kondo has been a huge help! I finally got rid of a bunch of clothes that were in the basement and sent them to Goodwill. I also did more organizing in the kitchen and will probably buy more containers to store all our dry goods. Next, I need to tackle all the darn cardboard boxes from all of our wedding gifts that are stacked all over the basement! It’s so annoying! But little by little, I’m appreciating the slight improvements to our home!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that speaking of improvements, we purchased a new refrigerator! The one that was with the house we purchased almost 3 years ago always had a bad seal on the fridge door, and it’s just been obnoxious. When I was cleaning the shelves, one of the glasses shattered in my hands and that was all I needed to finally invest in a new appliance. The thing even beeps when the door’s been open too long. It was a bit of a hassle with the delivery, but now that it’s in I’m so happy!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I have my first real spring race on the calendar – the Rock ‘n Roll Nashville Half Marathon! Thanks, Bibrave! I’m super excited about visiting Nashville for the first time and this will be my first long race since the NJ marathon almost a year ago. And I have a discount code if you’re interested in joining me the last weekend in April! This will work for almost any of the RNR races this year!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…that I am looking forward to getting back in training mode. I reached out to Laura and she will be coaching me again, starting next week! I need the discipline, especially with the endless cold weather we’ve had this winter. The group runs on Saturdays are great, but I just can’t get myself out the door on any other day. Thankfully my feet feel good…it’s time to get back to work…slowly, but smartly! The other benefit is that I will have more to talk about – and I look forward to sharing my training updates!

What would you share with me over coffee?
