Do you get invigorated by the start of a new month? I do! Even in our current circumstances, I always find a new month a good opportunity to reset. I think that with March being my first month back to working out that things went pretty well! Now, I’d just like to pick things up in April and get back to running more regularly. Blogging has always helped me keep honest, and I’ve really missed being on this platform. So I hope you don’t mind indulging me!

I’m joining Kim from Running on the Fly and Deborah from Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Weekly Rundown! I’m also linking with Zenaida and Kim for Tuesday Topics and  Coach Debbie RunsRunning on HappyConfessions of a Mother RunnerMile by MileRuns with Pugs, and Fauxrunner for the Runners’ Roundup!

Weekly Rundown – Back in Action

Sunday 3/29: I did my first Tabata HIIT class with Y2B Fit, virtually via Zoom. Thank goodness the class was only 30 minutes! I tried to do the workouts as quickly as I could, but I really had to pace myself. Great workout with Taryn!

Monday 3/30 and Tuesday 3/31: I had previously worked out 4 days in a row for the first time postpartum, and my body needed a rest! Of course, the ZOOMA Fitter, Stronger, Faster Program started on Monday and I didn’t do a darn thing! Tuesday was more of the same, plus I was sore from all the burpees and squats in HIIT!

Wednesday 4/1: I finally got my act together and made it out the door for a run. I went for 3 miles in the neighborhood, followed by a 1-mile walk. The run was pretty challenging for me, but I stayed determined and thankfully didn’t have any pain. It was the second time wearing my new Brooks Ghost 12’s.

Thursday 4/2: My plan was to do the strength work from the ZOOMA plan and do yoga in the evening online with Kayla. Unfortunately, my timing was off and baby E was ready to eat during class, then laid on me for a nap, so I missed the whole thing. I was only able to watch Kayla do the class, and it looked pretty hard! Once the little one was down, I was able to do the reverse lunges for the day.

Friday 4/3: Y2B Fit had their free Happy Hour HIIT class after work, and it was a great workout!

Saturday 4/4: Went for a 2-mile easy run down to my favorite trail, and thankfully it wasn’t too crowded as people respected social distancing rules. After my run, I pushed the stroller for a long walk, over 3 miles (oops!). We hadn’t gone for a walk with E in so long, and I was nervous, but it went well!

Weekly Report Card

Now that I’m back to tracking my workouts, I’d like to get back to grading myself to once again keep myself honest. While I didn’t do all the workouts from the ZOOMA plan, I did rebound quickly. I haven’t been this active in months! I am grateful, so I’m giving myself an A-!

How did your workouts go this past week? Have you done any virtual fitness classes?
