Long time no talk! It has been so long since I’ve been able to post, but believe me when I say that it has been a crazy few couple of months. On top of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and racial unrest due to the senseless murder of George Floyd and countless other Black lives by police, a summer storm caused a neighbor’s tree to hit our house and damage our roof and siding. Thankfully no one was hurt but we had several days without power and had to make arrangements to still be able to “work from home” while taking care of our (then) 5-month-old daughter. Thankfully my MIL and sister came to our rescue, we’re lucky! We’re still dealing with our home insurance though…it’s just been stressful over here!
But on a much brighter note, I’ve been continuing to stay active. I’m not running as frequently this summer since I’m focusing more on strength training, but when I do run outside in the (lovely) heat or go for a walk, I’ve been wearing my new Knockaround sunglasses. Let me tell you, I’ve been a skeptic in the past, but I am a huge fan! I’m happy to share my review of these shades that are good for working out and hanging out!

Have you heard of Knockaround sunglasses? I have seen so many runners on Instagram rocking them over the years in all their fancy colors. Because I wear prescription glasses (and am always too lazy to put on contacts), I’ve only rarely gone on a run with shades. Until now.

I was able to test out the Premiums Sport and I liked them right away! I’m not gonna lie; I have a pretty big head, lol. So it’s great that the fit of these sunglasses was “just right”. The temples of the Premiums are on the thicker side compared to some of their other styles, which I prefer. As usual, this summer in Philadelphia has been swelteringly hot and humid, but the Knockarounds were able to handle my sweat with no issues with sliding or slipping.
I’ve been wearing these Knockaround’s all over the place: The beach, the pool, on a boat, on trails, walking on city streets…and I’ve been happy with them every time. It may be common knowledge, but wearing sunglasses while running on a trail can get a bit tricky if the trees create a lot of shadows. I had to make sure to watch my footing a little more than usual! Due to COVID, I haven’t been eager to fool around with contact lenses, but in the future, I will definitely look at wearing Knockaround’s with contacts so that I can see at full strength!
