I hope you are doing well and that you and your family are healthy! I have truly missed keeping up with you all on the blog. I’ve been keeping busy with mom life and work life, but I am always thinking about how I wish I had more time to write! I promise to do better in these last few months of the year!
I’m so happy to be able to link up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date! These are one of my favorite types of posts because it’s an opportunity to catch up on life! Grab a cup and let’s get it started!
Grab a cup and let's catch up – it's time for the #ultimatecoffeedate! Click To TweetIf we were having coffee, I would ask you how your summer has been going in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Did you do any traveling or stay put? We did go away around the 4th of July up to the Thousand Islands area of New York. I shared a few pics on Instagram. It was great to get away, but I was happy to come back home and stay in our little bubble.
If we were having coffee, I would ask you whether you are still on a working from home schedule. We had an announcement from our CEO that we would stay WFH until the end of September with the fall/winter TBD. However, I started going in 2 days a week a couple of weeks ago. I needed a change in scenery and honestly a bit of an escape. I’m a little paranoid though, so I may cut to 1 day/week just to limit my exposure to my coworkers.
If we were having coffee, I would ask whether you have kids in daycare or school and if so, what is your plan?! It seems so overwhelming as some schools convert to virtual learning while others are heading back in-person. I’ve also heard some schools are considering a hybrid solution. I feel for everyone – faculty, staff, students, parents…it’s such a scary time. Thankfully, we have my MIL for childcare, but come January, we’re really going to have figure out what to do…
If we were having coffee, I would ask if you are running or training for a virtual race. I runfess that I haven’t done much running over the past several weeks. I do have the America Runs virtual 5K coming up at the end of the month, so I better get out there! It has just been so miserably HOT so the motivation has been low. But I am stepping it up (no pun intended) and being more intentional about going on walks. We usually find a park/trail to hike on the weekends with Baby E, so that has been a fun way to work out.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I just signed up for the Many Happy Miles program and I’m excited that this month has a focus on the pelvic floor. I have a light case of diastasis recti, so I did a series of Core Restore in July through my favorite barre studio to combat the ab separation. I’m promoting Many Happy Miles through Bibrave, and so far I’m really liking the platform. They have monthly workout plans for runners and tons of videos and challenges. It’s worth checking out!
If we were having coffee, I would mention that it is my birthday month! The older I get, the fewer things I need, but I did at least schedule a massage! I am looking to “treat myself” so I think I’m going to schedule a much-needed hair appointment. I’ll be masked up for everything, of course! I was also thinking of ordering some sweet treats, like macarons or cupcakes.
If we were having coffee, of course I would give an update on Baby E! She is almost 7 months old, which is crazy!! Bret has started running with her in the jogging stroller a couple of days a week, and she loves it! She is crawling all over the place and we started feeding her solids…she LOVES to eat, haha! She is just a very happy girl (when she’s not hangry, lol). I’m a little sad because we have so many neighbors with babies and we still have to keep our distance. But it is temporary! Again, we are just grateful for all that we have.
How have you been? What would you share with me over coffee?
