The coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has been shocking, saddening, and unfathomable. In the early days, so many people thought we’d be back to normal by the end of the year. Now we know that we’re living in a new normal that affects each and every one…

One of those new norms is wearing a mask when out and about. To me, it seems that social distancing and masks are here to stay. Since that’s the case, wearing a mask that is breathable and comfortable is so important! That’s why I was glad for the opportunity to test out the Body Helix Ultra Light Face Mask, and I’m sharing my review with you!

Body Helix Ultra Light Face Mask Review

Body Helix Face Mask Features

As I’m sure you’ve seen, there are so many different masks to choose from disposable medical masks, DIY cloth masks, etc. The Body Helix Ultra Light Face Mask is unlike any that I’ve seen with the following design features:

  1. Optional nasal bridge wire strip controls air leakage and glasses fog
  2. Flexible, closed-cell fabric prevents transmission of water, viruses, and germs
  3. Disposable filters reduce risk of transmission while maintaining breathability
  4. Large over-the-ear strap design reduces ear discomfort during long-term wear
  5. Ultra-light, 0.5 mm ultra-thin fabric ideal for hot temperatures
  6. Unique non-slip fabric fits snugly to help reduce need for adjustments and minimizes contact between hands and face

The mask comes in two colors (black, cool blue) and in 3 sizes (small, medium, large). You can also purchase additional filters and nasal bridge wire strips.

Wearing the Mask

I was really excited about the opportunity to wear this mask. When the pandemic hit, I got a cloth mask pretty early but I find it to be extremely uncomfortable and almost suffocating. I’ve also worn buffs around my mouth but since I usually wear them on my head, they’re too loose to stay secure (big head strikes again!). Comfort has been a real challenge for me.

I’ve gradually started to spend more time in public areas over time and along the way, I’ve brought the Body Helix mask with me. I’ve tested it on several neighborhood walks and hikes with my family. It’s amazing! The fact that it prevents fogging is huge for me as a glasses-wearer. You just have to make sure to apply the nasal strip correctly and firmly so that it stays in place. I wore it on a 3-mile run recently and it was so comfortable and easy to breathe! I was really impressed. I even wore it when I went for a massage. While lying face-down on the table, I was able to stay comfortable in the Body Helix face mask. The mask would be great to use for any kind of errands and/or working out.

Here’s a video that shows exactly how to set up your mask. Make sure that the disposable filter covers all the holes, otherwise you won’t be protected! You also have to be mindful that when you fold up/put away the mask, be careful not to lose the nasal strip! And after each use, just toss the filter and throw it in the washing machine while laying flat to dry.
