Spring racing season is in the air! I think it’s safe to say that it is unlike any other that we’ve experienced as runners. Fortunately, there are some races that are still taking place such as the Delaware Half Marathon on June 13! And today I’m sharing 5 reasons why you should sign up!

The Delaware Marathon festival takes place on June 12-13, 2021, and is offering distances in the full marathon, half marathon, 4-person full marathon relay, 5K, and a Kids Fun Run.
As of the time this post is published, the Delaware Marathon Weekend plans to proceed in-person! It was tough to see so many races in 2020 get canceled, postponed, or retooled to virtual races, so it’s exciting to see that races are starting to carefully and SAFELY set up in-person races again. The Delaware Marathon staff is currently working hard to make adjustments to the race to ensure the safety of all participants, which is largely a reason why I decided to sign up for the live half marathon. However, if you’re still leery about making a trip to Wilmington, you can sign up to run any of the race distances virtually!
If you’re looking to PR your distance, this could be the perfect course for you! Now I do hear that there are a few hills along the way, but don’t let that deter you! The course takes you through Wilmington, Delaware, and features beautiful Brandywine Park on the Brandywine River, takes you along prestigious parkways, through historic neighborhoods of Wilmington, and past downtown’s Rodney Square. I can’t wait to explore a new city and state and look forward to the challenge!
The medals and T-shirts look fantastic for all participants of the Delaware Marathon Festival! And with the shirts being made by Under Armour, you know that you’re getting high-quality gear!
I’m happy to share a discount for you to sign up for Delaware Marathon Weekend! You can save 10% on any distance, including the virtual options, by using code DELAWARERAVE21. Hope to see you there, either in-person or virtually! Let me know if you sign up!
Have you ever run a race in Delaware? Do you have any in-person races lined up this spring?
