Hey there! I’m glad to be getting back to regular posting and the timing is perfect with the Ultimate Coffee Date in session, hosted by Coco and Deborah!

The first Saturday of the month has been a great time to see how people are doing with running and life! I can’t believe that I’ve let my absence extend so long, but better late than never. I’m going to grab a virtual cup of iced chai and get ready to catch up!

Let’s Catch Up!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I can’t believe that it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. It was completely unintentional. Work has been so busy and I’ve really cherished the little down-time that I get, so sadly I had to step away from the blog for a while. But the good news is that I’m back and looking forward to more consistent posting again! I’ve really missed it and all my running blogger friends.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I haven’t been running very much these last few months. I was actually starting to pick things up and then started having knee pain out of nowhere. Thankfully, I put 2 and 2 together and realized that my Superfeet insoles had several hundred miles on them. While I was rotating between 2 pairs of sneakers, I only used one pair of insoles. Duh…I won’t make that mistake again! Now I’m in new shoes and insoles and feeling much better!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I had an amazing vacation in Asheville, NC back in early May. We drove all the way down from Philly and it was a LONG drive but totally worth it. The Blue Ridge Mountains are absolutely stunning! And being a gal that enjoys beer, we loved all the brewery options. It was great that Bret and I were able to get a few date nights together while E was with my MIL back at the Airbnb. I had meant to create some type of Instagram Reels montage but it was too overwhelming so I gave up! We had a great time running, hiking, visiting Biltmore Estate, and again, the breweries!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I really got away from Instagram for a while. It was getting too stressful for me, and I never thought any of my posts were “good enough” or interesting enough. Why write a full paragraph in the caption for only 10 likes? And I’ve felt pretty insecure comparing myself to all the effortless mother runners out there (I know, I know). I get too caught up and obsessed with the numbers, so I know I have to keep myself somewhat detached from it all. Have you ever struggled this way? I appreciate any tips!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that E has been such a joy. Her language skills never cease to amaze me, and I just enjoy having any kind of conversation with my little girl. The toddler age is something else! This one seems like she could be a lawyer someday with all the negotiations lol. It takes a lot more coaxing now, but I think we’ll be able to keep going with the stroller runs and hikes in the carrier for a little while longer. Hopefully we can have more adventures this summer and fall!

I so hope you’re doing well! What would you share with me over coffee?
