New Workout: Yoga for Beginners

Yoga scares me.  It just does.  I’ve gone to a few classes and while I enjoy it, I still feel like I’m doing everything wrong…and it’s so hard to just be in the moment!

Yoga for Beginners

That’s why I thought it would be a good idea to jump on a new class being taught at Focus Barre and Yoga (formerly Barre Focus Fitness), called Yoga for Beginners.  It’s a 4 week series of classes that goes over all the fundamental poses of yoga, in a “safe” environment.  We also get to take four free additional classes at the studio to practice what we’ve learned!

Weekly Recap: A Workout Drought and Coaching News!

I have to admit that I’m extremely bummed out.  I’ve been sick with an annoying cold/sore throat/headache/dry cough/sneezing thing since the middle of last week.  So it really put a damper on any goals I had to work out last week.

On top of that we’re having the coldest winter ever in Philly.  Just when I think the Polar Vortex is over, oh wait, here’s another 2 feet of snow, and let’s keep the temperature in the teens and single digits.  It particularly sucks due to having a job that requires spending an extended amount of time outside.  The highways were in really bad shape on Tuesday afternoon as everyone was heading home…I’m grateful I made it back safe.  This cold weather has no end in sight!

I’m not trying to rant of course…I try to have no regrets and make the most of tough situations, but I hope I’ll be well enough to do something active soon!

New Toys, Back to Back Running, and a Coaching Update

Happy Hump Day!  Have you ever wanted the day to go by slowly and it goes way too fast?  That pretty much summarizes my week!  Work has been crazy busy and it’s been a balancing act taking care of everything.  And when I get home, the evenings never last long enough!

But things have been going pretty well.  I had 2 great runs over the weekend, and I haven’t run two days in a row in ages!  I was tempted to run again Monday, but I just can’t push myself.  I feel like I constantly have twinges of pain here and there, so I’m trying to listen to my body right now.
